Fair Orchids

There are no universal instructions for orchid care.  Many plants will thrive under varying conditions, but cultural requirements vary considerably between plastic pot, clay pot and mounted on a cork slab.  In the attachments on this page, I have added my notes to those of the AOS (American Orchid Society) culture sheets.

NOTE:   My notes are based on growing in Essex & Hunterdon counties in NJ.

    • In coastal NJ you can take the plants outside earlier
    • In PA & upstate NY somewhat later.

AOS culture sheets, which are somewhat generic as they apply to the entire US.
